Today's Reading

My deck has a history of giving scary readings that are never what i want to hear and generally pretty on-the-nose.

Basic three-card hope-fear-opportunity layout:

Here, you tell ME what it means! Seriously, i am wide open for suggestions here.

Hope: KNIGHT OF SWORDS

Excitement, ambition, and upheaval. He can be cruel, but he is your man when decisiveness is called for. A warrior, often represents the completely dedicated person.
and
The Knight of Swords is a card of martial strength and recklessness. The man involved is rushing into something with great strength and skill and thoughtlessness. Bravery, dash, heroic action, impetuousness. The outcome is uncertain, for the person's foolishness is matched only by his skill and courage.

Fear: SEVEN OF PENTACLES, REVERSED
Holding back from commiting to something. Hard work without satisfaction. Taking your breath while contenmplating a decision. Reversed, feeling impatient, trying to rush a decision, imprudence, unwise investments.
and
The seven of Pentacles tells of ingenuity, growth, hard work, progress, treasure, successful dealings.
Reversed it shows impatience, imprudence actions, loss, unwise investments.

Opportunity: THE EMPRESS
Fruitfulness, action, initiative, length of days; the unknown, clandestine; also difficulty, doubt, ignorance
and
Abundance, enjoying extravagance, receiving lavish reward, having more than enough. The Empress is the physical feminine principle. She is a sign of fertility, accomplishment and intuition. The Empress demonstrates confidence and progress; she can show a feminine influence and ability to motivate others.

Leading entry so far: "You should quit your job and get pregnant."

HA HA HA HA. Right.

Apparently running away and joining a commune to cooperatively farm organic vegetables is also an option.
