![]() | Lisa Bastoni is a great local busker who i met when i used to ride the red line. She is just releasing a new album, "Your First Sweetheart ", performing at The Burren this Sunday with Josh Kantor, and just got a nice write-up in the Boston Globe. She has a nice folk sound and a great storytelling ability. Check out her music. i have her Christmas album; it is the only holiday music i have ever liked in my entire life. |
I can't believe I'm going to say this... but I think I miss the Burren!

Just watch "Last Stop Wonderland" and you will be over it.
Posted by: sciencegrrl at May 14, 2004 03:41 PMI am sad that I missed this show this weekend, as I very much wanted to pick up Lisa's new album and support her act. However, a 9PM performance on a Sunday night is not the sort of endeavor I can perform anymore now that I am old and broken.
Ironically, Lisa and I graduated from college together, and she clearly has no trouble staying out late on a Sunday. But she doesn't have to a) drive back to New Hampshire after the show, or b) teach class at 8AM the next monring.
Posted by: b3n at May 19, 2004 11:39 AMYeah, i was too lazy to go. At least you have a real excuse besides being lame and too eager to see The Sopranos. Getting old and creaky stinks.
At least some of her stuff is on-line; i adore her songwriting. i think i will be picking up that new album with my next (and last guaranteed) paycheck.
Posted by: sciencegrrl at May 19, 2004 03:02 PMI'll have to say, Lisa is an excellent singer/songwriter. I can't seem to get her new CD out of my player. It comes highly recommended!
