Screw you, schmuck

Dear Professor Semi-boss,

It is one thing to ask me to cover *several* of your lectures this term, at NO ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION, for the EVENING LECTURE so i have to stay late, especially when you have completely fucked me over on the preparation of the first two exams, and this is your first time teaching at this university, but,

a) it is not helpful to tell me that *maybe* i need to cover for your Thursday lecture, so i have to do all of the preparation anyway, and then you could just show up. i do not know how you lecture, but you should know that preparation is 90% of the work, if you do it right, and

b) before you tell me that you left me your (illegible useless) notes like you did last time, you should really make sure that you DO NOT LEAVE AND FORGET TO LEAVE ME THE FUCKING NOTES, and NEGLECT TO TELL ME HOW FAR YOU GOT LAST WEEK so i have no idea what to prepare.

Fuck you in your fucking ear. Ass.

Methane discovery could signal life on Mars

Last Update: Monday, March 29, 2004. 9:19pm (AEST)

Scientists studying Mars say they have found evidence of methane in the atmosphere of the Red Planet, which they say could be a sign of present day life.

It was detected by telescopes on Earth and has recently been confirmed by instruments onboard the European Space Agency's orbiting Mars Express craft.

According to the scientists, methane does not last for long in the Martian atmosphere and is being constantly replenished.

It is possible that there are active volcanoes on the planet, but no evidence of activity has been found so far.

The other more controversial theory is that living bacteria, similar to that on Earth, are producing the methane.

AIEEEE kill me now. i BEG of you!!

From a student, sent to the wrong address (i.e. not the ones the students are told to use), who received a failure warning notice after exam I for her score of 15/100 (the average was 70), and another after exam II for her controversial (see below) score of 4/100 (the average was 55). She was told to see her lecture Professor about the controversy, and did not show up to her appointment. And now she sends this:

Dear Ms. ####:

I was wondering about my progress as a student so far and what additional requirements do I need to receive a B in chemistry.

Thank you

Aiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

She turned in TWO completely different exam papers for exam II, both entirely filled out, and without explanation. Details continue:

Wonderfalls' on April 1 -- No Foolin'

(Friday, March 26 03:59 PM)
By Kate O'Hare

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - "We are on next Thursday, April 1 [at 9 p.m. ET]," says Todd Holland, co-creator (with Bryan Fuller) of FOX's dramedy "Wonderfalls," "and now is the time for all good fans to come to the aid of our show. This is the moment of truth. Those ratings numbers will mean everything to us.

"FOX has seen some small portion of the light, and they're airing us as a one-time-only thing, a brand-new episode. They're doing a bit of a night switch without officially moving us, to test the waters."

Boston wants to curtail liquor sales during St. Patrick's parade

3/11/2004

BOSTON -- City officials are asking bars and liquor stores in South Boston to shut down during portions of the neighborhood's famous St. Patrick's Day parade in an attempt to deter public drunkenness, and make the festivities more family friendly.

Neighborhood residents have complained in recent years that the parade has become less of a celebration of Irish heritage, and more of an excuse to overindulge in alcohol late into the night.

Dejah Thoris, Princess of Mars

If you have not read by Edgar Rice Burroughs (yes, of Tarzan fame), go read it now!

The cover art makes her look all passive, but she is a princess and a scientist looking to scout the red planet to save her people; not bad for 1917!

At the very least you must read the best marriage proposal in all of literature:

MMMMMARS ROCKS!

OK, inside joke. As in rocks from Mars (Dick Zare) not the fact that Mars r0xx0rs, which is also true.

But how cool is water on Mars?

"Liquid water once flowed through these rocks. It changed their texture, and it changed their chemistry," said Dr. Steve Squyres of Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y., principal investigator for the science instruments on Opportunity and its twin, Spirit. "We've been able to read the tell-tale clues the water left behind, giving us confidence in that conclusion," he said.
